Want to get tested for COVID-19? Biocept is offering Weekly COVID-19 testing at LA Valley College for students and employees (by appointment only) on Mondays and Tuesdays in Engineering 100. Schedule your appointment using your private Cleared4 account link that was send to your student email. For other testing locations/dates, check the Districtwide COVID Testing schedule. Get vaccinated or boosted at Valley College! Come to our COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic to get the Pfizer (ages 12+) and Moderna (ages 18+) vaccines and third dose or booster. LAVC students and employees are eligible to receive a $150 Bookstore Gift Card with each vaccine or booster dose on campus. Appointments are available and walks-up are welcomed. Mindful Yoga

A brief description: Join Student Health Education and Yoga Instructor, Racquel TW for some gentle yoga. Please bring water, mat, and towel. Yoga will be at 2:pm on the grass between the Library and the Student Union.

$1000 Federal Awards for LAVC Students with Financial Aid

Every LA Valley College student enrolled for Spring 2022 who qualifies for financial aid is eligible to receive up to a $1000 federal stimulus award. To receive the award, you must:

  • Have LAVC as your home campus,
  • Be enrolled at Valley College for Spring 2022, AND
  • Be eligible for the FAFSA, California College Promise Grant (fee waiver), Dream Act Grant, or demonstrate economic hardship resulting from COVID-19

If you haven't already applied for financial aid, complete your Free Application for Federal Student (FAFSA) application (LAVC code is 001228) or complete the California College Promise Grant Application. If you need assistance, contact the Welcome Center.

Students who meet the requirements will be notified when the federal stimulus is awarded.

Free Metro GoPass for LAVC Students

All LAVC students are eligible to get a free Metro GoPass to ride all buses and trains operated by Metro between December 1, 2021-December 31, 2022. Stop by the LAVC Business Office with your ID to pick up your pass. Learn how to get your Metro GoPass.

Apply for an LAVC Foundation Scholarship! Applications Now Open

The Valley College Foundation has over 250 Scholarships with over $160,000 available! To apply, log in to your LACCD Student Portal. Click on the “Scholarship Tile”, and then click on “Login Here” next to the Student Log In. Email the LAVC Foundation or call 818-947-2619 with questions.

Get College Credit for Your Job & Internship Experience this Spring

LAVC Cooperative Education is offering up to four (4) CSU transferable elective units for your job, internship or volunteer experience during the Spring 2022 semester. You must be enrolled in another course (at LAVC or any other accredited institution) to participate. If you're interested, submit a completed Coop application in person or via email. Extended Opportunities Programs & Services (EOPS) is now accepting applications for new students through Sunday, February 27 at 11:59 p.m. Eligible students receive helpful counseling, priority registration, funds to help pay for textbooks and more. Random Acts of Kindness is an effort to spread kindness, love, and compassion in our community. Join Student Life in an effort to bring kindness to LAVC by visiting our bulletin board on the 1ST floor of the Student Union and selecting an act of kindness. Share photos of your Random Acts of Kindness on social media with #LAVCACTSOFKINDNESS.

Student Health Education is hosting an opportunity drawing for Valley swag! To enter submit a photo any day from February 7 through February 11 with the hashtag #LAVCWearsRed! Every photo you submit is an entry for the raffle! Stop by the Office of Student Life the whole month of February and pick up a Heart Health Ribbon.

The Smart Money Toolkit is a FREE financial literacy resource available to all LAVC students. Check out this amazing resource by self-enrolling in the toolkit and review the material at your own time. Topics include budgeting, saving, paying for school, buying a home and much more! The campus is closed for the President's Day holiday weekend. Campus offices and services will reopen, and classes will resume on Tuesday, February 22, 2022.
